In the new documentary Class of 92, David Beckham revealed that, as part of a team ritual, he had to touch himself sexually in front of the other teammates.

The soccer player recalled the incident that took place in 1991 when he was only 16 years old. Beckham was asked to stare at a photo of Welsh soccer player Clayton Blackmore and masturbate while his teammates watched.

Beckham said the affair was the most disturbing one in the initiation process.

"Everyone had an initiation that you had to go through on the youth team, that was one of the most uncomfortable ones," he said.

Beckham was shy to talk about the incident on camera, but the fact that all his team members had to go through the ritual made it slightly less uncomfortable of a subject to talk about it.

"I was embarrassed when I was saying it on camera let alone talking about it more," he said. "But it's something that we all had to go through. It was definitely something I wouldn't like to go through again!"

The film celebrates the Manchester United's group of young players who defined a remarkable era at the club. BBC's Sally Nugent spoke to the players about the friendships they formed and why players all feared Alex Ferguson. Beckham, who retired this year from the sport, also spoke to the BBC about his decision to give up soccer and that "his former team-mates continued exploits make him feel old."

The film is scheduled for release on Dec. 1.
