Despite being on a hiatus until its season 2 premiere, Netflix's Orange Is The New Black still continues to gain traction in terms of its ever so rising popularity.

Actress Taylor Schilling, who dons the lead role of Piper Chapman on the program, sat down with Studio Q on Nov. 25 to chat about OITNB and the creative ideas behind it, amongst her other projects.

Schilling took the opportunity to praise Jenji Kohan and the show's writers, stating that the series will continue to keep its storylines fresh, which will allow its audience to experience various parts of its characters.

"The beauty of the writing is that we travel quite intimately into their [characters] lives. There are a lot of universal themes that are uncovered," she said.

When queried on whether she's had time to sit back and reflect on the level of success that Orange Is The New Black is currently in the midst of, Schilling admitted that she and the rest of the cast have been too busy to even kick back and celebrate for too long.

"We're so in the middle of it. We're so in the thick of making the thing, which I think is great. There hasn't been much time to sort of get into the woo woo [celebrating its success]," Schilling said.

While most of the show's viewers are surely not in or haven't been to prison, Schilling feels as though that has no bearing on its popularity.

"We're taking all of these different women, all of these different people that for a large part of the population. I think you could look at some of these women that you're seeing on the show and say 'their separate from me, I don't have anything in common with them," she added.

Netflix's Orange Is The New Black is set to make its return for its sophomore installment at some point in 2014. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on the popular series.
