The first official trailer for the Gareth Edwards Godzilla remake was officially released by Warner Bros. studios Dec. on 10.

In a shocking move, the trailer not only features glimpses of the actors in the film (Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Ford, Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody, and Elizabeth Olson as Elle Brody,to name a few), but a brief look at the monster himself. The last Godzilla remake, back in 1998, did not show the monster in its trailers.

The official synopsis for the action/fantasy film on the movie's website reads "an epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence."

The official 2-minute trailer features plenty of scenes of panic and destruction as the famous monster wreaks havoc. The clip has already gotten several positive reactions from fans on social media.

Enstars rounded up some of the top fan reactions on Twitter, which all show the excitement that has begun to brew for the film:

 "The trailer for the new reboot of Godzilla actually has me excited. MONSTER MOVIES RAWR!!!" Philip DeFranco said.

"After watching the trailer, it's official. I'm going to see the new Godzilla movie," fan John Schimmel wrote.

"Oh my god that new Godzilla trailer is awesome! I can't wait for the new movie!!!!" Howie Manzo tweeted.

"The new Godzilla trailer looks so bad a**" Sage Ricker tweeted.

"Just seen the Godzilla trailer. It looks unbelievably epic," Natalie wrote. 

Godzilla is slated for a May 16, 2014 opening.
