It was recently revealed that Phillip Phillips had to undergo 8 operations to treat his kidney problem during the course of American Idol. Now it seems he is headed for another surgery on Tuesday. And it seems that he will have the surgery in California and recovery in a Malibu mansion, thanks to an American Idol executive who has offered his home for Phillips and his parents during the course of the entire recovery.

UPDATE: Phillips Will Not Have Surgery Today (May 29): Postponed to Next Week Due to High Fever

"My right kidney just isn't kind of functioning and I need a little help with that so kind of have to get that fixed up pretty soon," Phillips told Digital Spy. "I'll get surgery soon - not just quite yet, but soon. I believe I should be 100% by the time the tour starts, so I won't miss anything."

Phillips' recovery is expected to take up to six weeks.

The 21-year-old singer who was crowned the latest American Idol waited until the end of the show to get the surgery done despite doctor's advice to have surgery right away. Hopefully he will recover in time to perform on the American Idol tour slated for this summer.

According to his dad, the singer underwent eight separate surgeries during the competition, People Magazine reports.

"He's been doing [well], but it's just grueling hours and it's just amazing what he's done through the journey," the singer's father, who is also named Phillip Phillips, told the magazine.

The crooner recently spoke of his love for his girlfriend Hannah, who he loves to death. He hopes that Hannah, who is currently studying to be a nurse, will join him on the American Idol tour. Phillips declared his love for his girl on People: "I'm hoping maybe she will be able to come on tour with me. It would be cool to have her there. She supported me throughout all of this, and I love her to death." He also added that his girlfriend has supported him and helped him through his pain throughout the show.
