The writers of Fast and Furious 7 are busy trying to craft a suitable send-off for Paul Walker's character in the film following the actor's death on Nov. 30.

While studio executives previously announced that filming for the 2014 movie had been stalled indefinitely, it seems like writer Chris Morgan is feeling the pressure to quickly whip up a convincing change in plot and incoporate an exit for the recently deceased actor. It is being suggested that bits of the actor's last footage will be used as a jumping off point for introduce his departure from the franchise. The hope is that the newly drafted screenplay is ready by the start of January so filming can be resumed.

Paul Walker's Last Twitter Post was About His New Movie; Film Will Honor the Late Actor

A source form Universal told The Hollywood Reporter that audiences still want to see the upcoming installment despite Walker's absence, but filmmakers are slightly worried about the various car crashes in the movie.

"What will drive everything is, is there an honorable and sensible way to do this?" the source said about finding a suitable send-off for Walker's character, adding that there was not "really a road map" for this situation.

The publication also suggested that changes in the script and not using footage already paid for might lead to the largest insurance claim in the history of Hollywood. Brian Kingman, an insurance broker at Gallagher Entertainment, said Universal would need to figure a way of justifying the removal of footage as being "reasonable, practical and necessary."

"If I were the broker, I would [calculate] how many days had already been captured, how many were left," Kingman said. "I would look at the original arc of the story and get input from the director, the producers and the studio as to why, notwithstanding the financial impact, the story doesn't make sense to complete. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. The studio should not have to make a movie it doesn't want to make to accommodate an insurance company."
