While rumors have been swirling about the fate of Fast & The Furious 7 in the wake of actor Paul Walker's death, one publication has claimed that the late actor's younger brother will fill in and finish his scenes for him.

The Daily Mail reported that Walker' 25-year-old brother Cody Walker, who is near identical look-alike for the star, and has worked as a movie stuntman, is set to take his older sibling's place in the franchise's latest installment.

A source close to production reportedly told the publication that movie producers came to the conclusion that they needed someone similar to Walker in the looks department so they could finish filming.

"Producers had a string of meetings right after Paul's death. They soon realized they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and that's when they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody," the source said. "They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on."

The younger Walker has not yet agreed to tak3 on the role, though the source added that "If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honor his brother's memory."

Officials from Universal Pictures have refused to comment on the rumor. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast could be back at work on the film as early as January, though it is a big 'if.'

Sources for the THR article said that the January 2014 restart is extremely uncertain, especially considering that the July 11, 2014 release was completely scrapped. Insiders did say that there will probably still be a seventh film, as well as an eighth.

"I actually believe [the tragedy] will add to returns," a rival studio exec told the publication.

"Sadly, it will probably make people more interested," a Universal insider said.

Paul died after a Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in crashed into a pole in Santa Clarita, Calif. The speeding car instantly bursted into flames on impact. The car's driver, Paul's friend and race car professional Roger Rodas, also died in the accident. The two men were pronounced dead on the scene. They were leaving a charity event for Paul's Reach Out World Wide Foundation.

A private funeral for the star's family, friends and Fast & The Furious co-stars is reportedly planned for this weekend.
