The Blacklist's Agent Ressler had a rough few episodes before the midseason hiatus, but it looks like the surly FBI agent will be hanging around the blacksite a bit longer.

After sustaining a fairly gruesome leg injury and a lifesaving, MacGyvered blood transfusion from Red (James Spader) during "Anslo Garrick Part 1/Part 2," Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) was rushed to the ER where viewers were introduced to his ex-fiancée, Audrey Bidwell (Emily Tremaine).

With little known about Ressler's past, Audrey could prove to be the ice pick that chips away at the agent's serious demeanor.

"Agent Ressler isn't going anywhere," said executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, according to TV Line. "That said, the injuries he's sustained and the revelations made about his character in the fall cliffhanger will certainly impact the show going forward."

It looks like the straight-laced investigator will have his own skeletons in the closet, although they probably aren't quite as literal as Red's.

"The theme of nobody really being who they say they are or you think they are stays true to that element of deception and intrigue and I think its going to take a long time to really unspool these people," Klattenhoff said of the NBC series' multilayered characters in a Behind the Blacklist feature for "Anslo Garrick - Part 2."
