Fans that were outraged by the thought of having Brian killed off of Family Guy can ease up since the dog was saved on the Christmas episode.

Last month, Brian was hit by a car and thought to be dead, leaving tons of fan infuriated. The beloved dog was also replaced by a new one named Vinny. But on Sunday, Stewie traveled back in time to save his canine pal.

"You're alive my friend," Stewie told Brian after saving him. "Brian, that car killed you and when it did a little part of me died as well. I couldn't live without you."

Brian, who was clearly touched, replied, "Wow, Stewie, thank you for saving my life. A whole lot of other families would have just gotten a different dog and moved on."

The series creator and Brian's voice actor Seth MacFarlane spoke about Brian's return to the show on Twitter. He also revealed that he wanted to teach fans a lesson.

"And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash," he tweeted on Sunday. "I mean, you didn't really think we'd kill off Brian, did you? Jesus, we'd have to be f--king high."

He also added: "Oh and hey... thanks for caring so much about the canine Griffin. He is overcome with gratitude."

Many fans also took to Twitter to reveal how happy they were that Brian was back on the show.

"I feel a little bit emotional watching the #FamilyGuy episode where Brian returns. I shed a tear, I won't lie," wrote one.

"Hadn't wanted to watch Family Guy since Brian was no more but I watched last night and thank God he's back. I wasn't feeling Vinny," tweeted another.
