Whether it was going shorter or adding bangs, several celebrities changed up their hair in 2013.

See what some of these stars had to say about their new look.

Jennifer Aniston: "It wasn't for a role. My hair went through a phase-I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it," she told Elle U.K. in November. "It's about two inches above my shoulders now."

Pamela Anderson: "I just thought my hair had had a life and I wanted to kind of put that behind me and start fresh," she said on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Meagan Good: "I just needed the freedom. I just needed to do something that was liberating and something that I felt like had a little bit of an attitude. I'm doing what I wanted to do," she told E! News.

Kristin Chenoweth: "I did it for a film, for a part, and also I thought for my life it would be a good change," she told Us Weekly. "We're always trying to make our look different for different parts we play and I've been having that long hair for awhile and I gradually went shorter."

Keith Urban uploaded a Twitter photo to debuted his short hair in November with the caption, "Snow ain't the only thing falling in Nashville today!! -KU."

Alicia Keys: "I had been talking about cutting my hair for awhile and figuring out in which way it would feel right," she told Zap2It about going shorter. "I put out a song called New Day that's also on my album and I was just like, 'You know what, it's a new day, and I'm cutting this off.' So I did it."

Jennifer Lawrence: "I cut it earlier, and it was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length, and I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, 'Well I don't want to do this,' so I just cut it off. It just couldn't get any uglier," Lawrence explained to Yahoo.

Jennifer Hudson: "I just wanted a change, something different," Hudson recently told HipHollywood. "And I figured if I was gonna go short, it's like, you got to go all the way."
