The 18th season of The Bachelor is set to premiere Sunday Jan. 5, and The Bachelorette's former contestant Juan Pablo Galavis dished to the media Thursday aboutwhat it was like to be the one giving out the roses this time around.

"I finally got to go on one-on-one dates. And it's tiring. On [The Bachelorette], I got rest, but on this you're the one going on all the dates."

While The Bachelorette Desiree Hartstock chose Chris over him, it was not hard for him to return to the show as a bachelor. He said they are on good terms and even thinks he might get an invite to their wedding.

"It's a process. You have to think a lot. I knew I had to be here the entire season, so it was going to be time away from my daughter. Also, I hate hurting people, and you have to say goodbye to a lot of people."

Still, Galavis said the risk was all worth it for 27 women are competing for his love. But he did confess that the theatric entrances some of the women made in hopes of being memorable didn't impress him.

"I wouldn't judge a first impression...My first limo was on fire. Then the second, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm in trouble.' By the third, I already forgot who the first girl was. I'm an easygoing guy and I like meeting people, but it's intimidating having 27 women looking at you like a piece of something."

Though he was looking for an intelligent, honest girl who likes to have fun (and maybe even like sports), whether his daughter, Camila, approves, was not a requirement.

"I don't need approval from her; she's going to be 5. When I'm dating on a regular basis, whenever possible, I introduce my girlfriend as a friend of Daddy's. We don't hold hands, we don't kiss, we don't sleep over, we don't do anything in front of my daughter."

He added that Camila will not be watching the show.

The Bachelor premieres on ABC on a two-night special starting Sun. Jan. 5. The first episode airs Mon. Jan. 6.
