One of the closest friendships on Game of Thrones will come to an end when season 4 premieres in spring 2014.

The friendship of Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) has been one of the few friendships that have lasted in the series, but fans should expect that to end in season 4. Presuming the writers continue to faithfully adapt George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Bronn will ultimately turn his back on Tyrion.

MAJOR BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD:

In the second half of A Storm of Swords, the third book in the series, Tyrion goes on trial as the presumed guilty party in the poisoning of Joffrey (Jack Gleeson). Bronn does not testify on Tyrion's behalf and ultimately ends up turning against him after Cersei (Lena Headey) pays him off to not help him. Bronn proves himself to be a sellout and turns his back on Tyrion.

An additional plot in the book features Cersei arranging a marriage between Bronn and a simple noble named Lollys Stokeworth. Bronn's marriage to Lollys makes him a Lord, which gives him more power than he ever had before.

Bronn tells Tyrion about his impending marriage and does not appear again in A Storm of Swords. However, it is heard through dialogue that Bronn has decided to name Lollys' son "Tyrion," a decision that greatly angers Cersei.
