The producer of Revenge revealed details about Emily Thorne's shooting mission and spoilers for the second half of season 3 at a recent press conference.

In the last episode of ABC's Hamptons thriller, it was revealed that the person pulling the trigger twice on the bride was none other than her new husband, Daniel Grayson. Moving forward from the shooting, producer Sunil Nayer said fans will see a "real humanization of Emily" in the next three episodes.

"She's a person who's been created by circumstance, and so we've tried to explore in the first half of this season what her mission has turned her into in some ways," he said. "And then answering who shot her and why, we wanted, in the second half of the season, to really answer the humanity of Emily Thorne, to get back to the girl that was destroyed by what the Graysons did, to get back to the family that destroyed her."

A promotional clip for the January episodes suggest that Emily lost her memory of everything that happened on her wedding day, and Nayar confirmed that the show will toy with an "amnesia storyline" in the new episodes this season.

As the investigation unfolds about Emily's shooter, there will be "a couple different people who become primary suspects," Nayar said. Investigators will also have evidence on the boat that they will pursue as well as photo evidence of what Margaux was doing on the boat, so Voulez becomes primary in the investigation.

Nayer also previewed Victoria Grayson's next move now that she has discovered more about her daughter-in-law. Nayer said, "She now has the power in the relationship, which she hasn't had obviously in the first half of the season."

Daniel's actions will affect him in episodes to come since he feels "tormented" by the nature of his acts, Nayer explained.

"You even get a sense after he shot her, there's this flicker of regret," he said. "He [committed] a brash act. He's been completely betrayed...Carrying through with the act was the big moment for Daniel.

"He will have to wrestle with the demons of what that means and wrestle with the fact that now, he's learned the truth about this woman that he's given his heart over to back and forth over the last couple of years. You're going to see a real transformation in him," he added. "There's a regret that will come from it initially, but then it will grow into a strength, a hardening in Daniel Grayson, because the person he trusted the most has really upended the nature of that trust."

Season 3 returns on Sunday, Jan. 5th, 2014 at 8 p.m. Central on ABC.
