There's a chance that earlier reports of Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) being the first to suit up as Green Goblin in Spider-Man 2 could be wrong.

Chris Cooper plays Harry's father, Norman Osborn, in the upcoming film. The actor hinted to Moviefone that Norman could very well be donning the famous costume and not Harry.

"When you see Spider-Man 2, you'll realize this is the introduction to Norman Osborn, and apparently it's going to lead to other things down the road," he said. "All I can say is this is a very strange introduction for Norman Osborn. I just can't reveal why it's that way, but this is not the beginning of Norman. It is the introduction, but it's not the beginning, and I think that's as far as I can go."

The trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 seemed to reveal that Harry would portray the Green Goblin at the film's beginning, though the comic books and past Spider-Man movies starring Toby Maguire showed him taking over the role from his father. Not only does the trailer make it look like Harry is in the Goblin suit, but Norman is shown on what appears to be his deathbed.

However, the scene of Harry suiting up could be an advanced showing of a post-credits scene, similar to another shown in the trailer that Screen Crush confirmed is a post-credit scene foreshadowing Spider-Man 3.

The scene, which appears at the 1:14 mark in the trailer, shows a shadowy figure walking through an OsCorp lab with clear background shots of Vulture's wings and Doctor Octopus' tentacles. In a voiceover, Richard Parker says, "I have discovered what OsCorp was going to use my research for."

If the scene of Harry in the Green Goblin suit is in fact a post-credits scene designed to throw fans off, then Norman could very well find a way to suit up for Spider-Man 2.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrives in theaters May 2, 2014.
