Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson had a special gift for his wife this Christmas.

Now that they are nearing nearly a half a century of marriage, the 67-year-old Robertson gave his significant other, Marsha "Kay" Carroway, a brand-new wedding band, according to a recent tweet by the couple's granddaughter.

"After 50 years of marriage Papaw Phil finally gave Mamaw Kay a wedding ring for Christmas," wrote Sadie Robertson, the oldest daughter of Willie Robertson and Korie Howard.

The martial gift comes at a time when Phil's current status on the show is under fire. Following his remarks about homosexuality and race in a GQ interview, he patriarch of the Duck Commander family has been put on leave.

However, this temporary suspension does not mean that the A&E show is taking a break. In addition to a recent Christmas marathon, Duck Dynasty will resume regular programming shortly. While the Louisiana family negotiates with the network, it appears they would be willing to sacrifice the entire show to defend the elder hunter.

"We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right," read a statement from the family via their website. "We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty."

Duck Dynasty returns on Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. ET.
