The premiere of Chicago PD, the offspring of NBC's Chicago Fire, is only a week away more news has leaked out regarding who will and won't be appearing in the freshman series.

Focused on the Chicago PD Intelligence Unit, the series received a backdoor pilot during the first season of Chicago Fire. Introduced in Let Her Go, the Intelligence Unit is was run by Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and, while he is still in charge, several other characters from the episode have since dropped out of the program.

Following the departure of Melissa Sagemiller, the Law & Order: SVU alum who was originally cast as Detective Julia Willhite, Scott Eastwood and Tania Raymonde left their roles as Jim Barnes and Nicole Sermons, respectively, according to TV Line.

Considering both series take place in Windy City, many fans are wondering how if, and when, any of Chicago Fire's regulars will be teaming up with Chicago's finest. There is a chance that Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) may find himself in a romantic relationship with PD's Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush), according to TV Guide.

"There's an interesting chemistry between [them]," said executive producer Matt Olmstead, according to TV Guide. "They're kind of cut from the same cloth, so it's something that we're exploring."

Joining Beghe and Bush in the new procedural are Jon Seda (formerly of Chicago Fire), Don Kress, Patrick John Flueger, Andre Bellos and America Olivio. Click the video below to see a preview of the premiere episode, "Stepping Stone."
