Easily the most buzzed about entertainment story of the year was the birth of Prince George.

The Duke of Cambridge Prince William and his wife Catherine welcomed the newborn on July 22.

"It's very emotional," the Duchess of Cambridge said at the time. "It's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like."

Although they didn't announce the name at first, Prince William and Catherine revealed that the newborn would be called George Alexander Louis. His official title is His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

Prince George is so popular that future parents are even expected to name their newborn after the royal baby.

Ancestry.com, a website that documents family history, predicted that the name George will receive a 32 percent increase in popularity in the U.K.

"The royals are always trendsetters for the population, and Prince William and Princess Kate have been no exception," Michelle Ercanbrack, a Family Historian at Ancestry.com, said in a statement. "If history is any indication, we fully expect George to jump in popularity amongst U.K. baby names."

In their first appearance since the birth of their child, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Tusk Conservation Awards, which honored African conservation, in London in September.

Royal correspondent of the Daily Express, Richard Palmer, tweeted some words that the couple announced at the event about their newborn.

"This is...our first evening out without him...excuse us if you see us nervously casting surreptitious glances at our mobile phones," he wrote. "As you might have gathered, Catherine and I have recently become proud parents -of a baby who has a voice to match any lion's roar!"
