The numbers are in for 2013, and the most pirated artist in the world is Bruno Mars.

The Gorilla singer came in at 5.78 million downloads, while Rihanna came up right behind with 5.41 million. They were the only two artists to be pirated over 5 million times.

The rest of the top 10 rounds out in this order:

  •  Daft Punk
  •  Justin Timberlake
  •  Flo Rida
  •  Kanye West
  •  Eminem
  •  Jay Z
  •  Drake
  •  Pitbull

Data was put together by The Telegraph, which used Musicmetric to analyze the information from Bit Torrent. The U.K. publication also used Musicmetric to show how new album releases affect downloads of the artist's older songs. The graph shows that people get nostalgic and start downloading previous albums when a newer one comes out.

TOP NEW ARTISTS OF 2013 INCLUDE LORDE AND HAIM TAKING THE MUSIC WORLD BY STORM (VIDEOS)

All of the artists in the top 10 had a new studio album released in 2013 except for Flo Rida, Pitbull and Rihanna.

Kanye West launched the provocative album Yeezus, while Daft Punk wowed electronic fans with Random Access Memories. Eminem went back to his roots with The Marshall Matters LP 2. However, it was ultimately Bruno Mars who took home the pirated music belt with Unorthodox Jukebox.

Mars showed critics his range with the album, which included Locked Out of Heaven -- compared heavily to tunes from The Police -- and Treasure.
