Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen will be making her Broadway debut in Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical Cinderella.

The singer will replace Tony nominated Laura Osnes for the title role. Jepsen will make her debut on February 4 at the Broadway Theatre for a 12-week run.

Jepsen recently made a statement to the press:

"Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale. These last few years have been a real fairy tale come to life for me so I feel especially blessed to play this part and be reminded that you must never stop dreaming!"

Jepsen also wrote to The New York Times, citing her reason for choosing the role of Cinderella. "It's so hopeful and inspiring," she said. "I've always been one to believe in the impossible, so I relate to her character completely."

This is not the first time the Call Me Maybe singer has performed in a musical. Some of her previous stage productions when she was in high school include starring roles in Annie, Grease and The Wiz.

This version of Cinderella portrays the classic tale of living with an evil stepmother, advice from a fairy godmother and marrying a prince. Some of the musical's famous hits include In My Own Little Corner, Do I Love You and Ten Minutes Ago.

According to CBS News, the musical will have some updated changes from the original that will deliver charm to this generation.
