With news surfacing Tuesday of a Deadpool vs. Carnage four-issue, limited series comic book coming out in April 2014, fans are wondering if a Deadpool movie be next?

A film has reportedly been in and out of development since X-Men Origins: Wolverine came out in 2009. it would be a spin-off of Ryan Reynolds' character from the action movie. The actor played mercenary Wade Wilson, the character that eventually becomes Marvel's mutant assassin Deadpool.

Rumors about when production will start for a Deadpool movie have been going back and forth for years. Reynolds said in an October interview with Yahoo! "That movie is alive and kicking, and then it's dead as a doornail. Then it's alive and kiking and then it's dead."

Now that Marvel is releasing the much-anticipated Deadpool vs. Carnage comic series, could this be the time for a studio to jumpstart its production of the hyped Ryan Reynolds movie? Deadpool vs. Carnage already has comic book fans buzzing, with one fan tweeting Tuesday, "you guys..im dying over here! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT."

If it was up to Reynolds, the movie would begin shooting as soon as possible.

"There's minimal impact to the studio, which is the way we're kind of presenting it to them. We're saying 'Look, the budget is minimal. Therefore, can we do this the way it should be done?' " he said in an October interview

The only news that has came out about the movie is that Reynolds will play Deadpool, the script is hoped to be R-Rated, and the concept of the movie is very meta -- Deadpool lives in a world where he knows all other superhero movies exist, and that he exists inside the superhero movie spectrum.
