Just in time to close out 2013, one General Hospital star confirmed she is expecting a child in mid-2014.

Teresa Castillo, who has played nurse Sabrina Santiago since 2012 on the long-running ABC soap opera, announced her pregnancy with an Instagram picture of herself with her husband, Shane Aaron, on New Year's Eve.

"I am thrilled to announce that my husband and I are expecting a little girl in late May. We are so excited!!!!!" the 30-year-old actress captioned the photo.

The actress' pregnancy will be reportedly written into the show, an arc that has already begun to form.

General Hospital viewers have seen Sabrina left broken-hearted when her husband-to-be Patrick (Jason Thompson) chose to get back together with Robin (Kimberly McCullogh). While Patrick was taking time out of his relationship with Sabrina to make his decision, she found comfort in the arms -- and bed -- of her ex-love, Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise).

General Hospital : Monday, Dec. 30, 2013

Sabrina has been exhibiting early signs she may be pregnant, and on the Monday, Dec. 30 episode, she was encouraged by best friend Felix (Marc Samuel) to take a pregnancy test. It is unclear which man will be the father of her character's baby.

Castillo isn't the only GH star expecting a baby in 2014. Co-star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) is currently off the show while on a maternity leave of her own. She secretly married her former co-star Brandon Barash (who played the role of Johnny Zacchara until April 2013) in June 2013.

The couple announced that they were expecting a baby girl of their own in early 2014.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 2 p.m. on ABC.
