Heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield made controversial comments about how being gay "can be fixed" in Sunday's episode of United Kingdom's Celebrity Big Brother, but his son asserted that his father has nothing against gays.

After the boxer was slammed for comparing homosexuality to being handicapped during a conversation with a UK Big Brother housemate, Holyfield's son came to his defense in an interview with TMZ. Ewin Holyfield said he has a gay uncle and Evander treated him like a brother. His father treats everyone equally and is not judgmental, Ewin told cameras.

"My dad is the most loving and caring person you will ever meet," Ewin said. "He treats everyone like a human being...even if they are homosexual."

He also agrees with his father that homosexuality is a choice.

"My dad feels that being gay is a choice...and naturally that's how things work," Ewin said. "You cannot procreate and make a baby with two women, or two men. But at the same time, my dad is not going to judge someone for their sexual orientation."

Evander was laying in a bed with female Big Brother housemate Louisa when he revealed his perspective on homosexuality. Louisa was explaining that it's not about "being fixed," but it's just "how you are." She said "It's not a choice," and Evander chimed in, "Yes, it is a choice."

In a personal interview on the show he was confronted about his opinion on homosexuality. He said he was trying to just expressing his view point, adding, "It's not like I was going to mention to anybody else, it was just our conversation."
