Carmen Carrera, the superstar from RuPaul's Drag Race season 3, talked about her new life transitioning from a male to a femal in an interview with Katie Couric.

She was in all physical sense a man during her time on RuPaul, which also gave her the opportunity to express her transition to the public.

"I already had a small fan base with Drag Race, and I already had so much love from my shows, just from, you know, being Carmen Carrera, the drag performer," Carrera said. "And once my life started to change, I wanted to continue sharing my life."

Carrera also pointed out that her transition took less time than it usually does for other transgender people.

"I've only been transitioning for a little over two years. It takes about five or six years for some to go through it, you know, completely," Carrera said. "You go through the emotions you go through just allowing yourself to be a woman."

There is more to her life for Carrera than her transition. She would rather focus on where her life is going to go than the body changes.

"After the transition, there's still life to live," Carrera said. "I still have my career goals, I still have my family goals, I want to have more kids. I want to focus on that rather than what's 'down there' because that's been spoken about so many times."

Carrera was born as Christopher Roman. She was a drag queen on RuPaul's Drag Race, RuPaul's Drag U and RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked! in 2011.
