Lifetime's awaited TV film Flowers in the Attic is set for a sequel.

Based on the book written by V.C. Andrews, the sequel will cover the content in Pedals on the Wind. The news was announced on Thursday at the Television Critics Association Press.

Screenwriter Kayla Alpert said that the second flick will be taking place 10 years after the first film. "I'll just say it's a very juicy and compelling revenge drama."

Flowers in the Attic revolves around two parents and their four children. When the father suddenly dies, the family is forced to live with the children's cruel grandmother. The children are made to live in the attic while the mother tells them that they'll be receiving an inheritance when their grandfather dies. However, while the children are in the attic, they go through traumatic phases of abuse, torture and incest, although it is unknown exactly how much will be in the TV film.

Pedals on the Wind continues the story with more drama, including torture, scandal and death.

Flowers in the Attic became a feature film in 1987, and starred Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) and Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

The Lifetime movie version will star Heather Graham as the mother and Ellen Burstyn as the grandmother.

Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) will play the daughter Cathy and Mason Dye (Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader) will don the role of the son Christopher.

The film is set to premiere on Lifetime on Jan. 18.
