Britney Spears & Boyfriend David Lucado Are 'Totally In Love,' Source Says After People's Choice Awards 2014 Appearance
Things are going well for Britney Spears and her boyfriend David Lucado, with a source saying they are "totally in love."
The pop princess and her lawyer beau made their first public appearance as a couple at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, Jan. 8. A source told E! News that the couple is doing well after almost a year of dating.
"They are totally in love and they make a good pair," the source said. "He's from a small town and she is very sheltered. It's a good mix."
The source added that Lucado gets along well with the singer's family, and he sees her as normal. He is also doing more business in Las Vegas now so he can be close to his girlfriend as she stays in Spin City for her Planet Hollywood two-year residency show Piece of Me.
"David still sees her as a regular, normal girl he is dating," the source said. "He is extremely happy and doing very well," the source said. "He is still doing his business, but now in Las Vegas."
Lucado and Spears met through friends at a party.
Spears won her first People's Choice Award on Wednesday night for Favorite Pop Artist.
"Wow! This is so cool!" Spears said in her acceptance speech. "This is awesome! I was not expecting this. It's because of you that I'm able to do what I love to do. I want to thank my family- my beautiful family- my boys at home, my management team and all of my fans. I love you dearly. Thank you!"

Spears's ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, was at the ceremony as well and a source said the two did not run into each other.
