Though True Blood is airing its final season in summer 2014, that might not be the last time fans see Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and company.

Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton on the series, told Examiner this week that there might be something planned in the future for more True Blood.

When asked about what fans should do now that they won't have True Blood anymore, Moyer replied, "I'm not sure about the summer of 2015, but if things go the way I'm hoping there will be something to watch in the summer of 2016. We'll have an announcement about that... soonish."

Moyer's comments sound rather definitive that there will be more True Blood after the series has ended. This could mean that there will be a True Blood movie coming out in 2016, following in the footsteps of other HBO series like Sex and the City and Entourage.

It could also mean that there could be a spinoff series for one or many of the current cast of characters.

True Blood has been a successful show for HBO, so the network could want to continue riding off its success through a spinoff show. AMC is in a similar scenario with the recent ending of Breaking Bad. There will be a spinoff prequel called Better Call Saul coming soon to the network, starring one of the show's breakout characters, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
