Now that Juan Pablo Galavis has made his debut as The Bachelor, it's coming out that women began swooning over Galavis back when he was a contestant on The Bachelorette with Desiree Hartsock.

The show's host, Chris Harrison, revealed Thursday, "Juan Pablo really wasn't on our radar as we ended the show. We've really never had anybody who's had less screen time and less attention get so much popularity. We kind of had to rethink the whole thing...Once we announced him it was nuts..."

Harrison, who has hosted the show since it first began in 2002, joked that he was even a little envious of Galavis.

"There is this intangible charisma, charm, this thing that he has. I've seen it firsthand and women just swoon. It makes me mad and I'm jealous and I don't like him."

Galavis is also making history as the show's first ever Latino bachelor, prompting ABC to use it as a marketing tool and dub January "Juan-uary." Galavis doesn't seem to mind doing what's necessary for the show to be a hit.

"I want the show to be successful and if it's successful that means I was myself and people got to know me as I am and they like what they saw on TV," the single father said. "[Ratings] are for the executives but if the numbers are high I'm happy with that."

His popularity is obviously not a bad thing, as Galavis is rumored to be on the show so he can boost his acting and modeling and career. His ultimate goal is to be on Dancing with the Stars, he hinted in a recent interview.

You can catch Galavis when The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays nights at 8/7 p.m.
