The latest Disney flick Frozen is in early development to come on stage as a live musical

Disney Theatrical Productions confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly on Monday, just one day after the film was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film.

Bob Iger, CEO and chairman of Disney, mentioned that the film about a queen with powers to create ice with her hands would be coming onto the stage. It is still unknown if the show will be a full Broadway production or something else.

"We're not demanding speed," Iger told Fortune. "We're demanding excellence."

This is the third Disney film that has had a stage adaptation announced. The company also plans on bringing The Hunchback of Notre Dame to Broadway in the near future while Aladdin is scheduled to open in February.

It is currently unknown when the show will premiere but there is potential for the film's stars to cross over to the stage production, as Idina Menzel and Jonathon Groff both come from Broadway backgrounds.

Menzel won a Tony in 2004 for her role in Wicked and has also starred in both the stage and film versions of Rent. Groff received a Tony nomination in 2007 for his role in Spring Awakening.

Frozen also stars Veronica Mars headliner Kristen Bell.

In addition to its Golden Globe win for Best Animated Feature Film, Frozen has received a handful of other nominations. It was up for the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for Let it Go, as well as three Annie Awards.

The film is about two sisters, a queen and a princess named Elsa and Anna, who go through a journey of saving their town from being buried in winter when Elsa accidentally uses her powers to doom the town forever. Elsa runs away leaving the town in eternal winter, forcing Anna to go on a quest to find her sister and save everyone before it's too late.
