Jenny McCarthy defended ex-boyfriend Jim Carrey on Tuesday, Jan. 14, after Shia LaBeouf wrote another offensive tweet about the actor's parenting skills.

The social media comment followed Carey's joke at Sunday night's Golden Globes about LaBeouf's recent admission to plagiarizing. The Dumb and Dumber To star said sarcastically on stage, "Dying is easy. Comedy is hard. I believe it was Shia LaBeouf who said that."

Shia LaBeouf Retiring From Acting?

LaBeouf took to Twitter shortly after and posted a YouTube video of Carrey's daughter's band, The Jane Carrey Band, before slamming the actor's parenting abilities, according to E! News.

"At least I don't get arrested for indecency on major LA highways! Or abandon love childs," he tweeted.

LaBeouf later tweeted an apology for the comment, saying "Jim Carrey states that he is deeply involved in his daughter's life-I accept that. Regret tweet on the matter. Apologies to both parents." Both posts have since been removed.

LaBeouf also tweeted about Carrey on Tuesday saying, "If you explain @JimCarrey you killed him, Nobody knows if it's for real or not. That way he's immortal."

Shia LaBeouf Accused of Plagiarism Again, Lawyer Says Actor is "Seriously Out of Control"

McCarthy spoke out about the tweets Tuesday on The View. Coming to her ex-boyfriend's defense, she said, "You can attack myself, but don't bring my children into it. And I'm sure it's the same for Jim."

"Jim and I have become friends now since our breakup. We dated for five years and I got to know his daughter, Jane, who is a lovely, lovely girl," she added. "It's completely uncalled for and wrong. Jim is a great father. He loves Jane more than anything in the world."

She also said that while LaBeouf apologized for his remarks, he was still wrong to bring Carrey's daughter into the messy ordeal.

"Shia did apologize and Jim did take it, but the whole thing is, do not bring our children into it," she said.
