American Idol winner Phillip Phillips may not need surgery after all. Previous reports say that the 21-year-old urgently needed surgery to treat his kidney problem but it seems his health has definitely turned a corner and may not even need to have surgery urgently after all.

Phillips was originally scheduled to have surgery a week after his American Idol win but had to postpone it due to a sinus infection leading to a high fever. But now it seems that he had received an alternative treatment and is responding well to it - so well that he will be able to take part in the American Idol tour scheduled to kick off next month.
