Boba Fett may not be the man fans think he is.

In the wake of Jon Schnepp's announcement that the Star Wars franchise is moving forward with a Boba Fett spinoff penned by Lawrence Kasdan (Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back), new rumors have surfaced regarding the potential plot.

It appears that Kasdan is not particularly a fan of the prequels set up that the masked Boba Fett was one of Jango's multitude of clones. Although Attack of the Clones set up the premise that the young boy that viewers got to know as Boba Fett is the same as the bounty hunter that grows up to meet an unfortunate fate at the sarlacc pit (see video below), the Latino Review states that Kasdan will be altering that jet-pack donning man's identity.

Apparently, Kasdan will be having the true Boba Fett beheaded by an unknown entity who will then don his face-concealing armor and assume his identity. Therefore, it will be the Man-With-No-Name who pursues Han Solo through the original Star Wars films.

As for who will be at the helm for the 2018 film, the Latino Review has announced that Captain America's Joe Johnston is at the top of the list of potential directors.
