News about Hayley's (Julie Hesmondhalgh) death is set to spread throughout Weatherfield on Coronation Street.

Coronation Street: Monday, Jan. 20, 2014

Sensing something is wrong, Anna (Debbie Rush) and Carla (Alison King) will go into Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley's flat, only to discover Roy cradling his dead wife's body. However, it won't be long before they both notice the glass beside the bed, and realize Hayley died by her own hand, and not from cancer.

As Carla helps Roy, Anna heads to the Rovers Return to share the sad news with everyone, specifically Fiz (Jenny McAlpine).

Meanwhile, no one is entirely sure how Roy will react now that his wife truly is gone.

Besides Hayley's death, other characters are being forced to handle their own dramas. Sophie (Brooke Vincent) has been tasked by Tim (Joe Duttine) to get Sally's (Sally Dynevor) gold watch back from the homeless Maddie (Amy Kelly). Maddie kept the watch after she stole Sally's bag from the soup kitchen on Christmas. However, Sophie's attempts will prove to be a cause for concern when Maddie says she will only return the watch if Sophie gives her £50 first. Sophie could try and strike a deal on behalf of her mother, but tensions may rise again if she attempts to trick Maddie into thinking she will be paid.

Also, Nick (Ben Price) and Leanne (Jane Danson) are trying to work on their marriage, despite previously realizing it may be best for them to split up. For now, Nick is spoiling his long-suffering wife, but the attention may not last much longer.
