Some of the supporting characters on Orphan Black will be explored more when season 2 premieres in April.

The cast and crew of Orphan Black appeared at the Television Critics Association press tour recently, revealing many new details about season 2. In the new season, some of the supporting characters like Felix (Jordan Gavaris) and Cosima (Tatiana Maslany) will be explored further.

"I think what season 2 helps to do is establish [Felix] as an individual with his own identity and as a multifaceted human and not just a plot device or not just someone who's there to facilitate whatever Sarah's [Maslany] crazy idea is that day," Gavaris explained. Felix's backstory will be explored in the new season as he begins to grow his social circle.

"His relationship with Sarah is tested in our new season as well, as well as he creates new friendships and allegiances with some of the other clones," Gavaris teased.

Maslany revealed that Cosima will be dealing with the effects of her respiratory disease in season 2. The actress revealed that Cosima is her favorite clone, admitting that it was "heartbreaking" having to portray Cosima facing her own mortality.

Maslany also discussed the "daunting" task that was ahead of her as she prepared to shoot season 2, but admitted that she took comfort in having taken on so many roles in season 1.

"At the same time, there was a sense of, 'OK, we've done this before' ... and what was exciting about Season 2 is we flesh out the world of each of the clones," she said.

Orphan Black season 2 premieres April 19 on BBC America.
