Abigail Breslin has been in Hollywood for over a decade, but the youngster is never too old to take a few lessons from the greats.

On the cusp of adulthood, the 17-year-old actress entered the public conscious as Bo in 2002's Signs but went on to capture hearts and snag awards as Olive in 2006's Little Miss Sunshine. Despite acting for over half of her life, Breslin took the time to observed Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts while filming August: Osage County.

"It was more (about) seeing how they were on set and watching them act, that was a big lesson," Breslin explained, according to Bang Showbiz. "I felt like I was at an acting school for three months because I learnt so much just from watching them."

While the actress works to improve her craft and often finds herself on filming with some of film's finest, Breslin still feels uncomfortable attending the big ticket events of awards season.

"I always feel like the person who got invited as the plus-one," Breslin admitted to the Los Angeles Times. "I'm always terrified."

Nevertheless, the Ender's Game star looked the picture of maturity and composure as she walked the red carpet at both the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Critic's Choice Awards last week (see photo above).
