Daft Punk's Get Lucky has won the Record of the Year award at the 2014 Grammys, beating out Imagine Dragon's Radioactive, Lorde's Royals, Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven, and Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.

Record of the Year is given for a single track off an album, and is presented not only to its artist, but to its producer, performing list, recording engineer, and/or mixer.

For the purpose of the award, the word "record" means a specifically recorded song. Although the honor is associated with the Song of the Year and Album of the Year, it is considered different in terms of its concept.

Interesting to note, Frank Sinatra has been nominated the most times for the Record of the Year with seven nominations, but only captured the award once in 1967 with his hit song, Strangers In The Night.

The very first Grammy Awards ceremony was conducted on May 4, 1959, and was used to honor the musical accolades in performances from well known artists, with the most popular of the achievements presented to an audience on television.
