One car crash is bringing lots of sad emotions to The Young and the Restless.

In a new episode teaser, Nick reveals some devastating news to Victoria who asks, "Where's Billy?"

"We don't know," Nick responds. "There was an explosion."

In a later scene, it's revealed that the chance that anyone survived the car crash is slim to none.

On Friday's episode, Genoa City was worried about Adam and Billy's whereabouts. The car crash was shown and one person was spotted outside of the car walking but the face was not visible.

Paul and Nick went to the scene of the car crash and the latter said it's Adam's car. After an eyewitness stated that a man walked away, Nick yelled to Paul that someone is still inside the vehicle. However, the car soon blew up into flames.

While it's unknown who the survivor is, TV Guide reported that Billy Abbott will return but with a different actor - David Tom. Tom played Billy from 1999 to 2002 and the actor is excited to reprise his role.

"It feels totally comfortable and I'm smiling from ear to ear. It's like I'm still waiting to snap out of a dream. It's so great to be back working with Peter Bergman [Jack] and Jess Walton [Jill], again," he told TV Guide.

"When I left, Billy was more of a boy. Now I get to play him as an adult, with all his adult problems. I'm stepping into some really big shoes here. Billy Miller is a great actor who did an amazing job in the part. I definitely have some challenges. Fans can be resistant to change but I think they'll be happily surprised at what's coming up."

CBS' The Young and the Restless airs Mondays through Fridays at 12:30 p.m. EST.
