Late Oscar-Winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman's last interview has surfaced.

Hoffman made his last appearance during the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, just two weeks before he died in his apartment.

The Along Came Polly actor was interviewed on the red carpet of the festival and spoke on what motivated him as he portrayed Mickey Scarpato, a man who tried to hide his stepson's death, in God's Pocket.

"Something about that [Mickey] is my age, I think he's dealing with issues you have to do at middle age. You realize that some choices you made along the way, you have to shift or change, or else you just stay in the dark," he said.

Hoffman, who most recently starred in Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was found dead in his New York City apartment by his two friends. They went to check on him after he failed to pick up his three children and discovered him lying in his bathroom wearing only underwear around 11 a.m.

While his death is said to be accidental, a needle was in his arm and an officer did confirm, "He was shooting up."

His girlfriend of 14 years and mother of his children, Mimi O'Donnell is said to be "inconsolable" over her partner's death. The two are said to have split up just months before his passing.

Hoffman's neighbor said, "I think him and his woman friend were off and on. He lived down here for a long time and was well liked, but everyone knew he had substance-abuse problems."

An official also said the two were no longer together. Hoffman was last seen Saturday night around 8. He was 46-years-old.
