Hannibal fans will be getting a glimpse of Mason Verger this season, although the creepy villain will most likely still have his face intact.

Following the announcement that Katharine Isabelle had been cast as Margot Verger, Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Boardwalk Empire's Michael Pitt is set to play her tormenting brother.

The casting news comes as the series heads into production for episode 9 of the 13-piece season, meaning Mason will be introduced at some point during the last four episodes of the season.

Known as a disturbing pedophile in Thomas Harris' original Hannibal novel, fans will get a more in-depth look at the character in the run up to the season 4 and season 5 portrayals of Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs. While Margot eventually becomes Mason's bodyguard, the female Verger will be a patient of Dr. Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) when viewers first meet her in the latter half of season 4, according to TV Line.

According to Bryan Fuller's statements at the Television Critcs Association winter press tour in January, the upcoming season will be in two distinct parts. The first section will comprise episodes one through seven while the last six episodes will make up the second unit.
