Black Widow has yet to receive her own movie, but fans can rest assured that Natasha Romanoff will get her fair share of the plot in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

'Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron' Opening Sequence To Be Based In South Africa?

While Marvelites get to see Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Captain America (Chris Evans) as stars in their own franchises, The Avengers is an ensemble production and should give fairly equal screen time to each of its core characters.

As Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) fans found out in 2012, this isn't always true. However, Black Widow is set to play an integral role in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and an explanation of her back story will spill over into Age of Ultron, according to Comic Book Movie.

War Machine To Join The Vision In 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron?

"We start filming the next Avengers film at the end of March," said Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' president of production, in the latest issue of Total Film (via Comic Book Movie). "[Black] Widow's part in that is very big. We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film."

Since Age of Ultron is Marvel's final Phase Two production, the studio is currently developing plans for it's next round of films. With Edgar Wright's Ant-Man already confirmed for July 2015 and rumors of a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel becoming more prominent, Phase Three slots are filling up quickly. However, Feige's recent comments hint at the possibility that fans may finally be getting a Black Widow-centric film.

"The notion of exploring [Black Widow's past] even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that," Feige informed Total Film.

In the meantime, Black Widow can be seen in the April 4 debut of Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well as the May 1, 2015 release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Click the video below to see a preview for the impending Captain America sequel.
