Former Bachelor Sean Lowe revealed the truth behind why he decided to abstain from having sex with Catherine Giudici before marriage in a new interview for I Am Second.

Lowe & Wife Dish On Being "In Heaven Right Now"

Sean Lowe, the 30-year-old Texas native, is happily married to Catherine Giudici after meeting her during his season of ABC's The Bachelor.  However, because they decided to wait until after marriage to have sex, he was ostracized by the media for being too good.  On Jan. 28th, the pair even took a polygraph on Jimmy Kimmel to prove that they waited.

Lowe's reasoning for doing this had nothing to do with public perception and everything to do with his personal relationship with God.

Details On Catherine Moving Into Lowe's "Dude Place"

In the new 12 minute interview he revealed, "After graduating college, I moved back to Dallas, I'm dating other girls, and I started having sex. And I would feel extremely guilty afterwards, but after that guilt faded, then I would start talking to some other girl and go down the same path of destruction."

Lowe continued, "I just reached a point where I thought, 'I know Jesus is in my heart and I know how I'm supposed to live, but for the past five or six years, I've just decided to ignore it, and something's got to change.'"

At 24, he made the decision to stop engaging in meaningless sexual activity, until after he was married.  Then ABC producers called him to be on Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette.

After he was eliminated in the final rose ceremony, Lowe was "heartbroken".  But, he received a call weeks later to be the new Bachelor and met his wife, Catherine Giudici whom he describes as "the one I couldn't see myself saying goodbye to, ever."
