Pharrell Williams broke the news of his new album G I R L earlier this week, and now the super-producer has revealed the meaning behind the name of the album, as well as the full track list.

Pharrell Williams Announces First Album in Years!

Back stage at the 2014 BRIT Awards, the BBC got a chance to chat with Williams, who of course wore a large hat to the show. During the interview, the Happy singer explained the reasoning behind the album's name and showed his deep appreciation of women around the world.

He also revealed that he put two spaces in between each letter of his album's title on purpose.

Pharrell Williams Is Married?!

"The reason why I named it G  I  R  L in capital letters id because when you look at it, it looks a little weird. And the reason why it does is because society is a little unbalanced," he said. "I just thought like, if I'm gonna make an album, I need to make an album that says everything that says everything that I've ever wanted to say."

Pharrell's fan base is filled with women who adore his creativity and his physical appearance. He acknowledged that as one of the reasons he made this album, explaining, "Women have been so good to me over my career. Everything I've ever gotten is because they've paid for [it] so they're like my bosses- indirectly and directly. I wanted to analyze that."

Just before the interview ended, Williams gave a detailed explanation as to why everyone should appreciate women, from his point of view.

"I admire women in a lot of ways," he explained. "At the core, is what I'm telling you, we need them. Every living breathing human being on this planet, regardless to your sexual orientation benefits from two things from a woman: the agreement to enter the act and the agreement to have you. So they have the power. Every human being has come through those silver-lined doors."

In other Pharrell news, Noisey revealed the full track list of the 40-year-old's new album, which features guest appearances from Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk, and Alicia Keys.
