The producers of Man of Steel 2 might be looking to diversify the cast based on new reports from inside sources.

New information from Latino-Review, one of the most reputable casting scoop websites, states that the Man of Steel 2 producers are looking for a black actor in his early 20s to play a role in the film.

According to the report, sources say that the actor must by physically fit. Most intriguingly, the role will not be a one-off for the actor, as they will be recurring in other DC superhero films.

The report also reveals that Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) met with Man of Steel 2 director Zack Snyder to talk about potentially signing on for the role.

Since the role is intended to be "recurring," it suggests that it will be an important one in the grand scheme of the D.C. Cinematic Universe. The report suggests certain DC characters like Dick Grayson/Robin and John Stewart/Green Lantern as the identity of the role.

Those in the comments section have agreed that it could by Cyborg, a superhero that has not yet been adapted for the big screen.

Production has yet to begin on Man of Steel 2 as producers are still trying to line up the cast. So far, there are several actors from Man of Steel who are returning for the sequel, including Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

Other actors who are joining the DC Cinematic Universe for Man of Steel 2 include Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
