While doing press for Wes Anderson's new film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Goldblum told the publication that he hadn't been asked to reprise his role and that was that.

"They haven't called me for "4," I know Steven Spielberg isn't directing it," he said.

The 61-year-old actor also suggested that when Steven Spielberg was directing the iconic dinosaur thrillers he had been asked to come on board. Goldblum did not act in the third installment.

Director Colin Trevorrow has also given away a few plot details about the film via his Twitter account recently. By way of a response to a fan query the director revealed that the new film will be a sequel and not a reboot. He suggested that the film will be set 22 years in the future.

The film will star Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt and Ty Simpkins.

The Jurassic Park films are based on Michael Crichton's series of novels about pre-historic beasts being revived by revolutionary gene technology. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are co-producing the film alongside Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two installments in the franchise.

The film hits theaters June 12, 2015.
