American Horror Story star Taissa Farmiga is set to start production on a new horror film this spring, which could put her potential appearance in season 4 in question.

Farmiga will be starring in The Final Girls, a horror-comedy about a girl trapped inside her mother's most famous horror film, according to Dread Central.

Production on the film is reportedly set to begin in April, which could conflict with the American Horror Story shooting schedule.

Lily Rabe NOT Appearing In American Horror Story Season 4?

Farmiga played Violet in the first season of American Horror Story and most recently played Zoe in American Horror Story: Coven. She skipped American Horror Story: Asylum, and the actress could skip season 4 as well.

Very little has been revealed about the fourth season of American Horror Story, with fans still in the dark about the new concept, themes and cast. However, series regulars Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson have said that they will be appearing in the fourth season.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that the fourth season would take place in the 1950s and feature Lange sporting a German accent.

Series regular Evan Peters has also said that he wants to appear in the fourth season of the horror anthology series but he still doesn't know if he'll be asked to play a character. Similarly, Coven actresses Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett have expressed interest in returning.

American Horror Story season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on FX, though the network has not yet announced an official premiere date.
