With the series finale of How I Met Your Mother rapidly approaching, fans continue to clamor for bits of information that have still not been revealed on the long-running comedy series.

Ted Meets The Mother In Series Finale?

While reports continue to surface that the series is gearing up for a sad finale which sees the titular mother character die, fans are still clamoring for other important details that have not been revealed, like what the character's actual name is, and when exactly she will meet Ted.

While photos tweeted by star Josh Radnor and series co-creator Carter Bays on the final day of shooting strongly hint that Ted and the mother's actual first meeting will not take place until the hour-long finale episode, fans may also have to wait until then to learn the character's name, which has yet to be revealed.

Mother's Death Strongly Hinted At?

According to Latino Post, because the characters are likely not to meet for the first time until the final episode, fans will likely have to wait until then to learn the character's name as well.

Meanwhile, fans are expecting to have their hearts broken when the finale episode airs because of recent clues that the Mother may actually be dead during the finale. A photo of Neil Patrick Harris' character Barney Stinson in something other than a suit while filming the finale leaked online, sparking speculation that he would be attending a funeral in the finale episode, as the character had previously stated they were the one occasion where he never wore suits.

Most telling to fans however, was a scene between the Mother and Ted that takes place in the year 2024 during the show's most recent episode, Vesuvius, where the dialogue between the two seemed to hint that the mother may be sick and dying.

Along with lines about not wanting her husband to only live in his stories of the past and to move on with his life, the mother makes a statement about how mothers always attend their daughter's weddings, which caused Ted, and then her, to tear up.

How I Met Your Mother airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
