UPDATE: The match will resume in a few minutes!

The France vs Ukraine match has been halted after just ten minutes of play due to bad weather. Due to heavy torrential rain, lightning and thunder. The referee decided to take the players off. As of now, the game is officially delayed.

France vs Ukraine was scheduled to kick off the action in Euro 2012 Group D today. The game could be a pivotal one for the group, and the action will kick off at 12 p.m. ET, and can be watched live on ESPN 2 and through online live stream (details below).

France looked confident against England in their opening game, but were unable to capitalize on their superior possession, and ultimately didn't look like scoring despite 15 shots on target. They could only manage a 1-1 draw, which actually breaks their nation's record as the worst run of games at major tournaments. France have now gone 8 games in a row without winning in major tournaments.

That may cause some doubts in the minds of the French players - playing for their worst team in history - but they will be looking to bring that winless streak to an abrupt end today against Ukraine.  Their two major problems perhaps are a lack of confidence, as well as the lack of a pivotal match-winner in their side.  It is also interesting to note that France have never won a Euro championship game without Michel Platini or Zinedine Zidane in their team. Perhaps something else to bring more doubts to the minds of the players.

Ukraine on the other hand are coming off the back of a fantastic win against a more-favored Sweden side. Talisman Andriy Shevchenko scored twice in that encounter to put Ukraine top of Group D after the first round of games.
Despite the doubts surrounding the French team they will still be the favorites in most people's minds - they in fact slaughtered Ukraine 4-1 in the same stadium they are playing in today - the Donbass Arena - just last year.
However, if Ukraine can manage to defy the odds again and defeat France they will qualify for the quarter finals.
France vs Ukraine kicks off at 12 p.m. ET and can be watched live in ESPN 2 or through live stream on ESPN 3 by clicking HERE.
