Big Brother 16 officially has a set premiere date, with the long-running reality show returning in June on CBS.

Big Brother 16: NOT 'All-Stars'?

On Tuesday, CBS announced the premiere dates for its summer lineup, with Big Brother 16 kicking off with its premiere on Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m.

The premiere is airing in June for the second straight year, after the launch of Big Brother 15 in June 2013. Before Big Brother 15, the reality competition kicked off it seasons after the fourth of July.

Once again, Big Brother will be airing three nights per week: Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The series will air at 8 p.m. on Sundays and Wednesdays and 9 p.m. on Thursdays. The first eviction will take place on Thursday, July 3.

Longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen is returning once again to host the 2014 season. She tweeted about the premiere and posted casting information for prospective houseguests Tuesday afternoon:

"SAVE THE DATE: #BB16 starts Wed., June 25th at 8pm et/pt," she tweeted. "We're looking for houseguests so check https://bigbrothercasting.tv/Big-Brother-Open-Casting-Calls ... for latest info!"

Chen tweeted that the show is "looking for houseguests" is even more proof that BB16 will not feature all returning players, as had been rumored after the end of Big Brother 15.

However, the reality show could still be bringing back a few returning players, as they have done for many editions, such as Big Brother 13 and Big Brother 14.
