The next episode of Survivor: Cagayan will feature a tribe switch, with brawn, brains and beauty no longer competing against each other.

Jeff Probst Reveals Redemption Island Returning After Season 28?

The preview for the next episode of Survivor: Cagayan reveals the big tribal switch that often happens during the pre-merge. While it is unknown if there will still be three tribes, one thing for certain is that the cast will no longer be separated by brawn, brains and beauty.

This development may work out best for the brains tribe, which has decimated into half of what it once was. Having voted out David Samson, Garrett Adelstein, and, most recently, J'Tia Taylor, the brains tribe is now down to Kass McQuillen, Spencer Bledsoe and Tasha Fox. The tribe might have continued to lose had the tribes still be split the way they were, but now at least some of them have a chance of being safe from Tribal Council.

Brains Tribe: The Worst Ever?

The new tribes will be selected randomly, according to host Jeff Probst's implications to Entertainment Weekly. The host teased what the twist will do to one cast member in episode 4.

"Ah, tribe switches are always so fun. We love doing them randomly so we never know what we'll get," Probst said in the Entertainment Weekly Thursday report. "For one person the switch is just about the worst thing that could happen. That's when Survivor 'luck' really sucks."

Survivor: Cagayan airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
