True Blood season 7 might feature Arlene (Carrie Preston) getting a new love interest, despite the actress' previous insistence that she not get involved in another romance.

"Favorite" Characters "Going To Be Dying" In Season 7?

Preston recently commented on the new character Keith (Riley Smith), who is set to fall in love at first sight with Arlene in the final season of True Blood.

"I haven't met Riley Smith yet, but he is certainly very talented and I'm really looking forward to working with him and seeing what the writers do with that storyline," Preston told E! Online. "We do know that Arlene has not been the most open-minded person throughout the series, so I myself am curious to see how open she lets her mind go."

Bill Compton At War With Others In True Blood Final Season?

Enstars previously reported that Keith is a rock 'n' roll musician who also happens to be a vampire. He also has a romantic side and sets his sights on Arlene in the final season.

Preston previously admitted that she didn't want Arlene to be paired up with anyone in the final season in the wake of the character taking over Bellefleur's Bar and Grill.

"I hope they don't pair her up with somebody. I'd like to see her be a strong woman and be OK in the world as a mom and an owner of a business and not be someone who doesn't feel complete if she doesn't have a man," Preston told The Hollywood Reporter in October. "This would be a nice evolution for her."

True Blood season 7 premieres in summer 2014 on HBO, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date yet.
