CBS released a preview clip for Under the Dome season 2 on Friday, revealing the new mysteries and characters set to be introduced this summer.

Under the Dome executive producers Brian K. Vaughan explains in the video that the citizens of Chester's Mill being under the dome is "so horrific, it's so beyond your wildest imagination." He adds that Stephen King, who wrote the novel Under the Dome on which the TV series is based, gave them some ideas they hadn't even considered before.

Vaughan also offered two cryptic teases about the second season:

"No one is safe in this town," he says, before adding: "What's outside comes inside."

Enstars previously reported on the comments of another one of the show's executive producers, Neal Baer, who said that fans will be surprised about who (or what) enters the dome in season 2.

It is confirmed in the season 2 preview video that two main characters will die in the premiere episode, and based on Vaughan and Baer's comments, it could be anyone.

The season 2 preview comes weeks after the announcement that ER actress Sherry Stringfield was cast to play the role of Pauline in Under the Dome. Pauline might just be the presumed dead mother of Junior (Alexander Koch) and wife of Big Jim Rennie (Dean Norris), based on unofficial reports.

Under the Dome season 2 premieres Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
