Fans of The Big Bang Theory should be prepared for a time-slot move when the show returns for season 8 in fall 2014.

CBS acquired Thursday Night Football for the upcoming fall season, which already directly put The Big Bang Theory's scheduling out of whack for season 8. CBS president Les Moonves recently addressed what he was going to do with The Big Bang Theory during the weeks of football season.

Moonves reportedly told Deutsche Bank Annual Media, Internet & Telecom Conference, via CarterMatt, that CBS was likely going to schedule The Big Bang Theory season 8 on Mondays during football season. After football concludes, the comedy would then go back to its regular Thursday time-slot.

Sheldon's 'New Reality'

The Big Bang Theory originally started off as a Monday show in its first few seasons before anchoring the new Thursday comedy lineup for CBS.

Fans of the nerd-centric comedy will likely continue to watch the show wherever it goes as it continues onward. The sitcom was picked up for an additional three seasons by CBS, a sign of confidence that it will continue to be a ratings winner. This puts its series run at 10 seasons, a remarkable feat for a modern sitcom.

The Big Bang Theory is currently the no. 1 comedy on television, regularly outpacing its Thursdays at 8 p.m. competition, like NBC's Community and Parks and Recreation and ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
